Historical Treasures of Acre, Caesarea and Haifa

Crusader Fortifications of Acre

  • Hospitaller Knights Halls - luxurious chambers where knights ruled
  • Templar Tunnels - underground passages connecting the hospital to fortifications

Acre's City Monuments

  • Hammam Museum - complex of 17th-century Turkish baths with preserved pools
  • "Napoleon's Walls" - Fortress that withstood Napoleon's siege

Caesarea: City of Herod the Great

Caesarea was King Herod's grand project. The city was named after Roman Emperor Caesar Augustus and became the administrative capital of the Roman province of Judea.

Roman Theater - the oldest in the Middle East, seating 4,000 spectators. Today it hosts open-air concerts.

Engineering Marvel of Antiquity

Caesarea's harbor was the largest artificial port in the Roman Empire. Innovative underwater concrete pouring technology was used in its construction.

The 500-meter breakwater protected the harbor from storms and survives to this day despite 2000 years of history.

Bahá'í Gardens: Symbol of Unity

The Bahá'í Terraced Gardens in Haifa - spiritual center of the Bahá'í Faith and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Creating the gardens took 10 years (1987-2001) and cost $250 million.

The gardens contain 450 plant species, with irrigation managed by a computerized system monitoring humidity and temperature.
